A woman’s body was found locked in the closet of the Hanford home and the suspect was arrested, police said

HANFORD, Calif. (KFSN) – A suspect has been arrested after a woman was found dead in a Hanford home.

According to police, on May 18 they were called to a welfare check at a home on W. Encore Drive. The woman’s neighbor called the police and told them she hadn’t seen her in a few weeks.

When police entered the home, they found the woman’s body locked in a closet. They believe she had been there for some time and did not die of natural causes.

During the investigation, police identified 37-year-old Kelli Yingling as a suspect. She was already in custody for another incident.

A murder charge has been filed against Yingling and she remains in custody without bail.

The woman’s body has not been identified.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Hanford police.
