Judge sets bail for woman who attacked two men after crash on MacArthur Causeway

MIAMI – A woman caught on camera attack two men with a screwdriver after an accident on the MacArthur Causeway appeared before a judge Tuesday.

During the hearing, Judge Mindy Glazer set bail at $7,000 for 26-year-old Acklynn Byamugisha, who is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was also ordered to stay away from the two men she is alleged to have attacked.

The accident occurred around 7 a.m. Monday after Byamugisha stopped her black BMW on the embankment, partially blocking the right eastbound lane near Biscayne Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. An oncoming white Toyota SUV crashed into it.

After the accident, Byamugisha got out of her vehicle and confronted the driver of the Toyota, Freddy Diaz.

According to the FHP report, Byamugisha claimed Diaz’s father showed up after the accident and “was very threatening, physically grabbing her and pulling her hair.” According to the report, she got into the father’s vehicle, grabbed his screwdriver and a bottle of Windex and sprayed it on it.

Video shot by Chopper4 shows Byamugisha appearing Chase Diaz’s father as he spoke on the phone and made stabbing gestures while Diaz intervened.

The trio struggled briefly before the men pushed away from her. She followed them and pointed the screwdriver at them. She then attacked her and Diaz fell to the ground. As they struggled, his father tried to pull her off him.

Then a third man came and pulled her away from the two men. He was able to hold them off while Diaz and his father walked away in the opposite direction.

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in this incident.
