Buffalo County Election Results: Nikkila, Clouse Win Races

Early unofficial results from Buffalo County show incumbent Jonathan Nikkila winning the race for Kearney City Council.

Nikkila came in first with 3,264 votes, Alex Straatmann (3,184 votes) second and Shawna Meyer (1,732) third. Six candidates qualify for the November 5 general election.

Ranking fourth through sixth were Kurt Schmidt (1,556 votes), Bryce Nelson (643) and Jamie Bernu (629).


Kearney school board election: Barth wins, followed by Smallcomb and Deeds

And in District 37 of the Nebraska Legislature, Kearney Mayor Stan Clouse won with 3,754 votes, compared to 2,119 for Lana Peister and 625 for Nathan Leach, according to the Secretary of State’s website. Nebraska. Clouse and Peister advance to the general election.

In District 41, Daniel McKeon leads with 3,030 votes, followed by Ethan Clark (2,376) and Nadine Bane (1,063), with 80 of the 87 precincts fully declared, according to the SOS website. Two will advance.
