Sean “Diddy” Combs denies sexual assault allegations in legal showdown

Attorneys representing Sean “Diddy” Combs are filing a motion to dismiss the lawsuit filed by an anonymous accuser.

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team has filed a motion with a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit alleging that the rapper, along with two co-defendants, sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl at a New York recording studio in 2003. He said the allegations were a “false and despicable allegation” that was filed too late according to the law.

A woman who said she lived in a Detroit suburb in 2003 but now lives in Canada anonymously sued Sean “Diddy” Combs and others in December 2023, alleging they drugged her when she was 17 raped in groups.

She says Harve Pierre, the head of Combs’ record label at the time, flew her to New York and took her to a recording studio. The lawsuit includes photos of her with Combs that evening.

Combs’ lawyers want the case dismissed immediately to avoid damaging his reputation and further legal costs. The woman’s lawyer says this is a weak attempt to evade responsibility.

Several lawsuits accuse Sean Combs of sexual assault, including some based on incidents that occurred many years ago.

These are part of a larger wave of lawsuits filed under a New York law that gave victims the opportunity to sue over old allegations.

While the deadline for this law has passed, a lawsuit is based on another New York law that also allows lawsuits after the deadline.

However, Combs argues that this lawsuit comes too late because another state law applies with an earlier deadline.

In November 2023, Cassie, with whom he had an on-and-off relationship from 2007 to 2018, accused him of assaulting and mistreating her during their ten-year relationship.

After settling the first lawsuit, Combs was again accused of sexual assault in a later lawsuit filed by Joi Dickerson-Neal. She alleged that Combs drugged and sexually abused her in 1991 while she was a student at Syracuse University.

That same day, another woman, identified as Jane Doe, accused Combs of sexual assault. She alleged that Combs and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall sexually abused her and a friend more than 30 years ago in New York City.

In February, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a former producer and videographer, filed a lawsuit alleging that Combs sexually harassed, drugged and threatened him during their professional collaboration.
