Sean Diddy Combs is asking a judge to dismiss charges that he and another man gang-raped a 17-year-old girl in a recording studio in 2003

Sean “Diddy” Combs has asked to dismiss a lawsuit accusing him and another man of gang-raping a 17-year-old girl in a New York recording studio in 2003.

He said the claim was a “false and despicable claim” that was filed beyond the legal deadline.

This is one of several controversies the 54-year-old rapper and his legal team have faced following multiple lawsuits and a criminal investigation into sex trafficking.

The filing states: “Mr. Combs and his companies categorically deny the plaintiff’s decades-long allegations against them, which have caused incalculable damage to their reputation and business, before evidence has been presented

“Plaintiff cannot claim what day or time of year the alleged incident occurred, but miraculously remembers other salacious details despite her alleged incapacitated state.”

Documents in the lawsuit, filed in December and amended by the alleged female victim in March, named companies owned by Combs as defendants.

The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, said she was in 11th grade in suburban Detroit in 2003. She claimed that music producer and president of Combs’ record label, Bad Boy Entertainment, Harve Pierre, flew her to New York on a private jet.

The alleged victim stated that she had consumed so much alcohol and drugs that she was no longer coherent and could not have consensual sex.

She then said that at one point, Pierre, Combs and another man took turns raping her limp body while under the influence.

Photos were presented to the court showing the victim sitting on Combs’ lap that night.

The defense moved to dismiss the case “subject to protecting the Combs defendants from further reputational damage and before further wasting party and judicial resources.” When a case is dismissed “without prejudice,” it means the lawsuit cannot be refiled.

“At this point, no one should take anything ‘Diddy’ or his lawyers say seriously,” said plaintiff’s attorney Michael J. Willemin. “Today’s motion is just a desperate attempt by Combs to evade responsibility for Ms. Doe’s allegations of gang rape and sexual assault. “It won’t work.”

Under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, victims of sexual assault before 2019 were given a three-year “look-back period” during which they could file lawsuits for abuse that occurred years or even decades ago, despite the three-year statute of limitations for crimes committed after 2019, extended to 20 years.

Combs is the target of more than 3,700 lawsuits, some of which involve allegations that go back decades. The new deadline has now expired.

However, Combs filed the motion challenging a lawsuit brought under New York’s Gender-Based Violence Victims Protection Act, which allows plaintiffs to file civil lawsuits even after the statute of limitations has expired.

Combs and his attorneys argue that the lawsuit was not filed in a timely manner and that state law (New York City’s Adult Survivors Act) “without exception” overrides city law (New York City’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law).

Although the modified version of the complaint filed in March attempted to address some of these difficulties, Combs’ attorneys contend that she did not provide enough evidence.

If the lawsuit is to move forward, the woman’s identity must be made public, the judge said.

Combs’ legal team also argued that the use of a “bold, legally irrelevant ‘trigger warning’ was intended to draw attention to the salacious and depraved allegations.”

Combs has been the defendant in several sexual abuse lawsuits in recent months, in which he and his lawyers have denied all allegations.

In a lawsuit Combs settled the day after it was filed in November, his former protégé and girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, sued him for years of sexual abuse, including rape. The lawsuit said he forced her to have sex with male prostitutes while he filmed her.

In February, a music producer filed a lawsuit alleging that Combs forced him to recruit prostitutes and pressured him to have sex with them.

Two properties owned by rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs in Los Angeles and Miami were raided in March by Homeland Security Investigations agents and other law enforcement agencies as part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation

To date, Combs has not been arrested or charged with a crime in connection with the raids.

Combs, a three-time Grammy winner and founder of Bad Boy Records, is one of the most influential hip-hop producers and managers of the last three decades.

He turned his hip-hop empire into a broader business empire that includes private label liquor, fashion and a television network.
