Two people arrested after an incident of road rage

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Two people were arrested and charged following what police are calling an incident of road rage in Laurel County on Friday.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy was investigating an unrelated collision around 3:20 p.m. when he heard people screaming.

The officer then ran toward the disturbance and saw 26-year-old Jacob Harness get out of his car parked in front of a semi-trailer at the intersection of Adams Road and KY 770.

The officer then saw Jacob grab the truck driver by his shirt and throw him to the ground.

Then another man, 53-year-old James Harness, Jacob’s father, got out of another vehicle, went to the trunk, grabbed a gun and ran toward Jacob and the truck driver.

According to the sheriff’s office, James fired several shots in the area of ​​the confrontation.

The officer managed to disarm and arrest the shooter.

James Harness and Jacob Harness were arrested following the incident.

James Harness was charged with first- and second-degree reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

Jacob Harness was charged with fourth-degree assault and both men were taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
