HPD investigating officer-involved shooting of man in north Houston

HOUSTON (KIAH) – Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in north Houston Thursday evening.

The incident happened Thursday around 8 p.m. in the 600 block of East Tidwell Road.


A Houston police officer responded to the scene after reports of a physical altercation. When he arrived, a man pulled out a gun and fired it into the air.

Police found the suspect and shot him several times. He was taken to hospital and is expected to be OK. The officer was not injured.

He will be on administrative leave while investigators review body camera and surveillance camera footage of the incident.
