Chautauqua Lake

This 17-mile lake in Chautauqua County is a treasure of Western New York. Located just 1 hour from Buffalo, it is one of the best places for a day trip. Chautauqua Lake is very popular for boating and other water activities.

Lake Ontario

Lake Ontario, the smallest of the five Great Lakes, is the last body of water before you head down the St. Lawrence Seaway to the Atlantic Ocean. The lake has several spots along its shores that give you great access to the water, including a fan favorite, Fort Niagara.

Lake Erie

Located directly on the city’s shores, Lake Erie is home to several interesting attractions in Buffalo. There is direct access to the lake at Canalside, as well as almost every beach south of Niagara Falls.

Hoyt Lake

It’s a true hidden gem in the middle of the city. Hoyt Lakes is located in what many consider to be the largest park in New York State, Delaware Park. With an average depth of just 5 feet, Hoyt Lake has a lot to offer, like flamingo paddle boats.
