Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Multiple Metro Counties – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — Heavy rains are hitting parts of metropolitan Atlanta.

A flash flood warning has been issued for parts of DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties.

Brad Nitz, Chief Meteorologist for the Severe Weather Team said the warning was set to expire at 9:45 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Spalding, Butts, Henry and Clayton counties until 10 p.m.

Currently, a portion of Interstate 285 near Roswell Road and Georgia 400 is closed due to flooding.

Here’s what you need to know for Tuesday:

  • More widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely later this week
  • Risk of rain anywhere and at any time
  • Potential for 1-2 inches of rain+ in north Georgia through the end of the week
