Wymore woman arrested after giving birth in drug-infested home

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KOLN) – A Wymore woman was arrested Monday after giving birth to a baby in a drug-infested home.

Investigators with the Gage County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Christina Devor following an investigation into two felony counts.

Officers were originally dispatched to a home in Wymore on June 25 to assist paramedics with caring for a newborn born there.

According to the sheriff’s office, Devor suffered a premature birth and used methamphetamine and marijuana during her pregnancy.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the home and found a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, high-concentration THC wax, several other baggies containing white residue, and various drug paraphernalia.

The newborn was hospitalized for approximately three weeks after birth and placed under the care of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

Devor was arrested for child abuse, contact with methamphetamine to a child, possession of a controlled substance, possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
