Weather warning day for Wednesday, July 24

The Jacksonville metropolitan area and much of the First Coast will see a 70-80% chance of rain and thunderstorms on Wednesday.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Most Accurate Weather Team is issuing a Weather Advisory for the afternoon of Wednesday, July 24.

We’re still expecting thunderstorms most days this week, but on Wednesday a low pressure system will move in from the north, bringing more widespread showers and perhaps some severe thunderstorms. This is also possible on Thursday.

WHEN: Wednesday, July 24th from 12-7pm

IMPACTS: 70-80% rain and thunderstorm coverage in the greater Jacksonville area and much of the First Coast. Heavy rain, localized flooding (particularly on roads and in areas that have recently experienced heavy rainfall), and frequent lightning strikes are the primary hazards.

NECESSITY: Drive slowly on the roads and be aware of heavy rain and the risk of aquaplaning. Listen for thunder and be able to seek shelter if a storm approaches.
