Washington Co. man arrested while attempting to pick up minor

NOBLE CO., Ohio (WTAP) – Scott Armstrong, 43, of Washington County was arrested Wednesday while attempting to meet with a minor, according to the Noble County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Mackie, Armstrong met the minor through social media and was in the process of engaging in sexual acts with the teenager when he was arrested.

During the investigation, Sheriff Mackie reported that Armstrong had exchanged nude photographs with the minor.

Armstrong was charged Thursday with distributing harmful materials and harassment, both of which are criminal offenses.

Sheriff Mackie wants to make parents aware of the dangers associated with their children’s unrestricted access to social media.
