Early morning fire in Providence under investigation

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Emergency crews in Providence are investigating a fire that broke out early Saturday morning.

According to Battalion Chief Robert Lyman, emergency crews were called to the corner of Chalkstone Avenue and Division Street because a structure fire was reported.


When they arrived, fire was blazing from the roof of the building.

Lyman they were able to extinguish the fire quickly.

There was no one in the building at the time the fire broke out and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
