2 people arrested after multi-county chase ended in Caldwell County.

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Two suspects were arrested early Wednesday morning after leading police on a multi-county chase.

Officials said that at approximately 1:06 a.m., Caldwell County Communications received information that the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office was pursuing a stolen white Chevrolet Impala that had four studded tires.

The police chase began in Mecklenburg County and ended in Caldwell County.

Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office officers assembled near the Hickory Bridge and took over the pursuit near MDI on northbound Hickory Boulevard.

The sheriff’s office says the driver, identified as Scott Evan Tran, 35, pulled into the Sheetz parking lot in Granite Falls, exited the rear entrance and turned onto Mise Road, where the car became stuck in a ditch.

Tran was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and speeding to elude arrest. He was held on $75,000 bail for both of these charges. He was also served with several warrants from other agencies for which bail totaled $175,000.

The passenger, 27-year-old Allyanna Michelle Morgan, was also charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and bail was set at $75,000.
