GA 13-year-old arrested after chase in stolen car, found with stolen weapon – WSB-TV Channel 2

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. – Officers arrested a 13-year-old who allegedly led them on a chase in a stolen car. Investigators later found a gun in the car.

The chase occurred around 5 a.m. Monday at the corner of 27 Cary Street in Glynn County.

An officer saw a Toyota Camry that had no front tire or license plate. When the officer tried to stop the car, the driver sped off, he said.

The chase reached speeds of 65 miles per hour while the officer followed the 13-year-old accused of driving the wrong way on Georgia 27. The officer eventually performed a PIT maneuver, which worked on the second try.

The police arrested the 13-year-old. When searching the car, officers found a stolen weapon.

Glynn County police have not released the 13-year-old’s name, but have provided a list of charges against him, including driving offenses, car theft and gun theft.

The 13-year-old is currently in the Regional Youth Detention Center in Savannah.
