Buffalo Bills rookie Keon Coleman gets comparisons to two Pro Bowl WRs

Buffalo Bills and Florida State star wide receiver Keon Coleman had a breakout season with the Seminoles after transferring from Michigan State in 2023. After leading the team in receiving yards and touchdowns, he was selected in the top second round of the 2024 NFL Draft and has since become a household name for the “Bills Mafia” with his on-screen antics and anticipation of what’s to come during his time in Buffalo.

Comparisons between players are just that, comparisons. Pundits and media outlets often draw direct contrasts between players who share similarities in playing style, size and stature. Coleman has received much praise from NFL insider Jordan Schultz about the possibilities his talents present. Schultz recently appeared on “The Herd” with Colin Cowherd and said the former Michigan State standout could be the next “X-factor” who could make an immediate impact for the Bills, comparing him to receivers Mike Evans and Stefon Diggs.

“Scouters and executives have told me he has the ability of Keenan Allen and Mike Evans,” Schultz said. “He’s a 6-foot-4 punt returner with short-yardage speed. People criticize him for his 15-foot-10 time. He ran over 20 mph at the combine, which is the fastest time he’s had in the last two years.”

Coleman made some incredible plays for the Seminoles, even prompting former Syracuse head coach Dino Babers to say that “God was showing up when he made him” during FSU’s 41-3 win over the Orange a season ago.

As the Bills look to replace star receiver Stefon Diggs, this season will be a tough task for any rookie who steps into the league. Coleman insists he’s not Diggs or Gabriel Davis; he’s just Keon. That humble attitude, coupled with his skills between the hash, could be a recipe for a superstar in the making.

“He’s an exceptional athlete who’s going to make contested catches and often makes spectacular things look ordinary,” Schultz continued. “And I think he’s going to be an immediate and significant contributor to Josh Allen and the Buffalo offense.”

Coleman finished the 2023 season with 658 receiving yards on 50 receptions and 11 touchdowns, while adding 300 yards on 25 punt returns. He was named first-team All-ACC in three separate categories as an all-purpose player, wide receiver and return specialist.
