Omaha police investigate fatal pedestrian accident

Authorities were called to the scene because a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

When officers arrived, they found Robert G. Mummert, 56, of Omaha at the scene.

According to police, Mummert had parked his motorcycle near the intersection and was apparently clearing debris from the road when he was struck by an unknown vehicle that was passing through the intersection.

Officers performed CPR on Mummert until Omaha Fire Department personnel arrived and pronounced him dead.
