Federal government suspends taxes on food imports

The federal government has announced that duties, tariffs and taxes on imports of maize, husked brown rice, wheat and cowpeas will be suspended.

A statement by Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, on Monday said the suspension was part of measures to be implemented over the next 180 days to curb food inflation in Nigeria.
