1 dead and 2 injured in shooting in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) — An early morning shooting in Springfield left one person dead and two others injured.

Springfield police spokesman Ryan Walsh said officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of ​​Niagara Street and Oswego Street around 12:50 a.m. Friday.

When police arrived, they found an adult female gunshot victim. She was transported to Baystate Medical Center, where she died.

Walsh added that two male victims of the shooting were later found with minor injuries.
