An investigation into failed warning sirens in Calhoun County is ongoing

Calhoun County authorities are investigating why the county’s warning sirens failed to sound during severe weather on Monday.

Calhoun County Emergency Management says the program that controls the sirens was working as it should and it says there was internet connectivity. According to the agency, there was no evidence that any of the sirens were malfunctioning. Officials are contacting the manufacturer about the issue.

A tornado warning was issued in Calhoun County late Monday evening.
