A lawsuit related to Tammy “Sunny” Sytch’s fatal car accident has been settled

Tammy “Sunny” Sytch is currently serving a 17-year prison sentence following a fatal car crash while driving while under the influence of alcohol, and yet still faces multiple lawsuits.

One of those lawsuits was scheduled to go to trial but has since been settled. Jane Olivova named Geico Insurance as a defendant after she was a passenger in another car involved in the April 2022 accident.

On June 19, Olivova filed a notice stating that the two parties had reached an agreement and requested that the case be voluntarily dismissed. The case is not officially closed yet as they are waiting for a judge to sign off on it.

Olivova originally filed suit against Sytch, her then-fiancé James Pente, and Geico. In July 2023, she amended the complaint to list only Geico as the defendant. She had sought over $50,000 in damages and the suit was scheduled to go to trial on July 8 in the Circuit Court of Volusia County, Florida.

However, Sytch still faces a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of Julian Lasseter, who died in the crash. The trial is scheduled to begin on October 2.
