Child fatally shot in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood, suspect arrested for investigation

A child was fatally shot in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle on Wednesday evening, according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD).

SPD said officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3000 block of 21st Ave West around 6:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found an adult female who told police that her child had been shot.

Shortly thereafter, Seattle Fire arrived at the scene of the accident and discovered that the child was dead at the scene. According to the officers, the police then secured the area until their homicide squad and criminal investigation team arrived.

The child’s exact age is currently unknown.

Police said two people were arrested by police and were being questioned by investigators.
