Known fentanyl dealer arrested in traffic stop near Austin | Texas

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas – A traffic stop in Williamson County led to the arrest of a known fentanyl dealer, authorities said.

On February 27, 2024, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Interdiction Unit stopped a 2021 Dodge Charger for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as Lacy Jones of Katy, Texas, was found during a vehicle search with a firearm, narcotics and a large amount of U.S. currency, the press release states.

Further investigation revealed that Jones was a known fentanyl dealer. The Sheriff’s Office Interdiction Unit worked with the DEA and the United States Marshals Service (USMS) throughout the investigation. Jones was arrested on June 18, 2024, in Williamson County on a federal charge of conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with the intent to sell fentanyl. The USMS Lone Star Fugitive Task Force took Jones into custody.
