Waterloo Regional Police arrest Waterloo man following sexual assault investigation

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a Waterloo man following an investigation into sexual assault involving a firearm.

On June 21, 2024, police executed a search warrant for a residence in the area of ​​Philip Street and University Avenue West.

The arrest warrant was obtained due to a sexual assault incident that occurred on June 18, 2024, when the victim was sexually assaulted.

Officers arrested a 35-year-old Waterloo man and charged him with sexual battery with a weapon and other weapons-related offenses.

Based on the arrest warrant, the police confiscated an airsoft pistol.

The man was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.
