Man faces multiple charges after domestic incident in Ithaca

ITHACA, NY (WETM) – A man is facing multiple charges, with possible more, following a domestic incident that occurred early this morning in Ithaca.

According to Ithaca Police, Takiem T. Foat was arrested after allegedly attempting to break into a home on West Clinton Street around 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19 by smashing a window with the butt of a handgun.

Police say Foat left the house after being called, but when they arrived at the scene, they saw him drive past the house.

Officers subsequently stated that they attempted to stop Foat, but he allegedly drove away and later drove his vehicle through the fence between First Street and North Meadow Street.

Foat was subsequently arrested and charged with:

  • Attempted first-degree burglary, a class C felony
  • Fourth degree criminal damage
  • Third degree escape from a police officer in a motor vehicle
  • Second degree threat
  • Obstruction of government administration in the second degree
  • Two cases of reckless driving
  • Serious violation of the right to drive without a license in the third degree
  • Numerous traffic violations

Foat is awaiting arraignment on the current charges and may face additional charges as the investigation progresses. No further information about the incident is available at this time.
