Two men shot outside restaurant in Manhattan: police

According to police, detectives in Manhattan are searching for the gunman who shot three people and killed two of them outside a restaurant on Sunday evening.

Law enforcement sources said the shocking incident occurred at 11:41 p.m. on June 16 outside the La Minita restaurant at 3855 10th Ave. in Inwood.

Officials of the 34th Districtwho responded to a 911 call about the shooting found several injured people on the street.

The victims included a 44-year-old man who was shot in the face and a 40-year-old man who took a bullet to the chest. Emergency medical services took both victims to Harlem Hospital and Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, respectively. Both victims died shortly after midnight Monday morning. Police have not released their identities because family has not yet been notified.

Officers also discovered a 37-year-old man at the scene who had been shot in the leg. Paramedics took him to Harlem Hospital in stable condition. He is expected to survive, police sources said.

According to the latest CompStat report, the 34th Precinct has reported no homicides this year as of June 9. However, the number of shootings across the precinct is at 166.7%, with eight incidents of gun violence so far in 2024, five more than in 2023.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown and is being investigated, police sources said. No arrests have been made so far in the ongoing investigation.

Police say they are looking for a suspect dressed all in black and wearing a face mask who fled east on 206th Street.
