NASHUA, NH — Two separate incidents this month that began as verbal altercations escalated to guns being drawn, authorities said. Both incidents ended in an arrest.

The first case involved a traffic accident on West Hollis Street on June 4. Nashua police said the victim told officers that he had a verbal altercation with a man later identified as 52-year-old Jonathan Longo of Nashua. During the altercation, Longo allegedly brandished a firearm.

Police said that during the investigation, video evidence was obtained showing Longo pointing a gun at the victim.

A warrant was issued for Longo’s arrest for criminal threatening with a firearm, a Class B felony. On June 7, Longo was arrested. He has since been released on his own bond and will be arraigned in Nashua 9th District Court at 1 p.m. on July 16.

Police were called to a separate incident near the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center on Prospect Street on June 8. Two male victims told police that a man later identified as 44-year-old Daniel Roberts – a person they had never met before – pointed a gun at them during an altercation.

Criminal Investigation Department investigators recovered the firearm used in the altercation and Roberts was charged with two counts of menacing with a firearm. He was placed on preventive detention and held at the Hillsboro County House of Corrections pending his arraignment Monday in Nashua 9th District Court. The outcome of his arraignment was not immediately available.
