State police investigate rollover accident in Forestport

On June 8, 2024, at approximately 8:43 a.m., State Police in Remsen responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident that occurred on Moose River Road in the Town of Forestport.

A Mazda 5 built in 2012, operated by Melody C. Stanford59 year old, of Port Leyden, NY, was traveling west on Moose River Road when she left her lane, went off the south shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle spun, overturned and came to a stop on the roadway.

Stanford was taken to Wynn Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Stanford received a speeding ticket.
