Driver rammed two vehicles on Route 309 on Saturday, accident still under investigation

Montgomery Township police said a three-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday afternoon on Route 309 was still under investigation Monday morning. They asked anyone with information about the crash to contact them immediately.

According to police, the accident at 4:23 p.m. involved a 2003 Honda Accord, a 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan and a 2022 Subaru Ascent.

Four people were injured and transported to area hospitals by VMSC EMS. A 35-year-old woman suffered knee pain and a 42-year-old man suffered bleeding from his head, police said. Other occupants reported minor injuries, police said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the Honda was traveling south on Route 309 and the other two vehicles were stopped in the northbound lanes, police said.

Police say the driver of the Honda veered left into the northbound lanes, striking the other two cars. The Honda continued on Route 309 and eventually came to a stop on the northbound curb, police say.

According to police, Route 309 was limited to one lane in both directions for 45 minutes. The accident scene was cleared by 6:15 p.m.

The Montgomery Township Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Montgomery Township Fire Department, Montgomery Township Fire Department and the VMSC.
