Bushra Bibi applies to IHC for parole in Iddat case

ISLAMABAD: Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Movement for Justice (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking stay of sentence in the Iddat case.

Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, has filed a petition for suspension of sentence in the Supreme Court in Islamabad through lawyer Salman Safdar.

The petition filed by Bushra Bibi states that the prosecution has presented weak and contradictory evidence before the court on the basis of which no verdict can be passed and the sentence passed by the court cannot be upheld.

The petition argues that Bushra Bibi is being kept in the prison under the worst conditions to make her a target of political revenge. To meet the demands of justice, the petition for suspension of sentence must be dismissed soon.

In her petition, Bushra Bibi asks the court to stay the February 3 verdict and order her release on bail.

It should be noted that the Civil Court sentenced Bushra Bibi to seven years in prison in this case on February 3.
