Teenager arrested for murder in Chester

Chester police reported Saturday that a 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with a firearms homicide.

The press release states that Officer Frank Myers arrested the youth in the city on May 31. The youth was charged with murder and related offenses and taken to the Abraxas Youth Center in South Mountain, Pennsylvania, a rural area about a half-hour west of Gettysburg.

On February 17, 2023, shortly before 1 p.m., Chester officers responded to a shooting in the first block of East 17th Street. Officers observed a victim named Eriq Morrison, who died at the scene.

“I commend the efforts of Ofc. Myers and the members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest the young man,” said Police Chief Steven Gretsky.
