2028 NFL Draft could be in Buffalo, Mayor Brown says

BUFFALO, NY — Mayor Byron Brown earlier this week confirmed that Buffalo plans to submit a bid to host the NFL Draft in 2028.

Buffalo’s mayor on Friday spoke for the first time about the idea of bringing an event that large to Western New York.

“Bringing the NFL Draft here will have a positive benefit for the entire Buffalo-Niagara region,” he said. “And certainly, anything that I can do as mayor of the City of Buffalo to support the Buffalo Bills in their work to bring the NFL Draft here, I will certainly do that.”

This year’s draft in Detroit set a record with an estimated 775,000 fans in attendance over the three days.

The NFL Draft used to be held over a two-day period in New York City hotels. During the past decade, however, it has since emerged into an annual spectacle, moving from Radio City Music Hall to amazing backdrops in host cities nationwide.
