Lancaster County man sexually abused children in his care: State Police

A 71-year-old Lancaster County man who cared for foster children was arrested and charged Wednesday after police say he sexually abused children in the county between 2004 and 2016, according to a news release.

Frank Breneman of Lititz was charged with rape of a child, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a child, sexual battery of a minor, sexual assault of a minor and indecent assault, according to court records.

Breneman was initially accused of abusing two victims between the ages of four and 11, but a third victim had similar experiences with Breneman, the police report said.

According to a press release, state police said some of the victims were children whom Breneman took into his home and abused.

Two separate court documents show that preliminary hearings against Breneman are scheduled for June 11 and June 14. According to court records, Breneman was unable to make bail on Wednesday and was booked into the Lancaster County Jail.
