CISF suspends policewoman, FIR registered for alleged slapping of Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport – Rising Kashmir

The Central Industrial Security Force on Thursday suspended the policewoman who allegedly slapped actress Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport.

A senior CISF official confirmed the incident and said they were also in the process of filing an FIR against the policewoman.

“We have lodged a complaint against the police officer concerned at the local police station. She has been suspended with immediate effect and an investigation has been ordered into the matter,” the official said.

The incident occurred around 3:30 pm when Kangana was about to board a flight to Delhi.

This morning, Ranaut was allegedly slapped by a CISF policeman while she was on her way to Delhi to attend a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) scheduled for tomorrow.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kangana Ranaut asked on her social media account how to put an end to the growing “extremism” and “terrorism” in Punjab.

“I am safe. I am perfectly fine. The incident took place during the security check. After I cleared the security check, a woman CISF constable was waiting for me to go through the booth. Later, she came from the side, slapped me on the face and started abusing me,” Ranaut said in a post on ‘X’.

“When I asked her why she did this, she told me that she (the CISF official) had supported the farmers’ protests. My (Kangana) question is how can we put an end to the growing extremism and terrorism in Punjab,” the BJP leader added.

Meanwhile, the CISF police officer said her mother was among the farmers who staged a sit-in against the now-repealed agricultural laws.

“She said the farmers would sit there for Rs 100. Should she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there protesting when she made that statement…” she said.

The farmers’ protest, which lasted 15 months, was directed, among other things, against the (now repealed) agricultural laws.

Kangana Ranaut defeated Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi by a margin of 74,755 votes. (ANI)
