APD hopes recent arrest leads to Atlanta woman’s body missing since 2022

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Atlanta police said during a news conference Wednesday that they hope a recent arrest will help them find the body of Allahnia Lenoir, who has been missing since 2022.

Investigators are confident that the arrest of Steven Oboite, 31, was the final arrest in this case and that no one else is involved in Lenoir’s death and disappearance.

Oboite was arrested June 1 by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources after leading officers on a pursuit at Lake Allatoona.

Two other men, Diante Reynolds and Nicholas Devon Hendrickson, had previously been arrested and charged in the case.

Lenoir was last seen in July 2022 at a Midtown apartment on Peachtree Street. Police said she was with a friend when she met the suspects at the apartment where investigators also believe Lenoir was murdered.

“From day one, our goal has been to locate and return Allahnia, and that is more true today than ever,” said Major Peter Malecki of the Atlanta Police Department. “We believe someone knows where she is and we are imploring that person to come forward.”

Oboite faces charges of murder and concealment of death. He is currently facing charges in Bartow County and, once that becomes clear, he will be brought to Fulton County, according to investigators.

Lenoir’s mother, Janette Jackson, also spoke at the news conference where she pleaded for the suspects to provide answers about her daughter’s whereabouts.

“If there is anything human left in you, please just tell me where my daughter is so we can put her to rest,” Jackson said.
