In November 2017, Carrie Underwood had an accident in which she suffered serious injuries.

According to Hello, Underwood tripped and fell while walking her dogs, breaking her wrist and suffering severe facial injuries. She was taken to the hospital for emergency care, where her broken wrist was stitched up with 40 to 50 stitches above her lip and surgery was performed.

Speaking on the podcast “The Bobby Bones,” the country star spoke about the incident, saying: “I was out with the dogs and I just tripped. There was a step and I didn’t let go of the leashes. Priorities! That’s why my left hand is fine. But I tried to catch myself and missed a step.”

In an interview with Vulture, Carrie Underwood spoke about the challenges she faced after receiving stitches as a result of her fall. In addition to the physical limitations of the stitches, Underwood described the unexpected impact on her vocal performance in the studio. Although she wanted to return sooner, Underwood admitted that the stitches took a psychological toll on her. She also admitted that she had doubts about her singing abilities.

The American Idol winner said: “I sang something and then I looked at (producer) David (Garcia) and I was like, ‘Did that all come across clearly?'”

But Underwood stressed that she now wants to accept the accident and move on. Underwood is currently in her Reflections residence at Resorts World.
