Starwood Land Opens Lazy River Facilities in Two Houston Area Communities

Over Memorial Day weekend, Starwood Land celebrated the grand opening of lazy river facilities in two master-planned communities: Sunterra in Katy and Sierra Vista in Rosharon.

“With the opening of The Retreat and The Island Amenity Villages in Sunterra and Sierra Vista, we now have three amenity resorts anchored by a lazy river in the greater Houston area,” said John Brian, regional president of Starwood Land, in a press release. . “It’s a distinctive feature of our communities here that speaks to the quality and lifestyle you can expect in a Starwood Land community.”

The Retreat at Sunterra also features a resort-style pool with a water slide, splash pad, tennis courts, soccer field, and multi-purpose event lawn. Plans for the community also include a Crystal Lagoon amenity.

Meanwhile, The Island Amenity at Sierra Vista features a heated pool, sports courts, playground and fitness center.

Starwood Land’s first lazy river in Marvida opened last September. KGA DeForest and Project Luong were the project designers for the three pleasure villages.
