KINGSTON, Jamaica – Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says he is lucky after falling off his bicycle on Charlemont Avenue in St. Andrew on Sunday morning.

The priest published a post on Instagram in which he expressed his gratitude to God and to the well-wishers who contacted him after the news of his accident became known.

Tufton shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed with a bandage on his forehead, shaking hands with dancehall artiste Valiant, confirming that he was involved in the incident.

“Well, this Sunday was not planned! I fell off my bike this morning,” Tufton wrote under the photo.

“I feel very lucky because it could have been worse!! Thank you to God and everyone who prayed for me and sent me messages,” he added.

He continued: “Thank you also to Valiant for getting me to the UHWI quickly and to the medical and nursing team who are currently caring for me.”

It is believed that the Health Minister suffered a broken wrist in the accident.
