NCDOJ investigates Pilot Mountain Police

PILOT MOUNTAIN, NC – The North Carolina Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating a Triad police department.

You may remember when the city fired three officers and the police chief resigned in 2023 following a fraud investigation.

The officers were accused of collecting checks for their free time without ever working.

Investigators also found that one of the officers used his position to circumvent ATF regulations.

Again, it is not clear whether the state’s recent investigation is related to this.
