Forklift accident at Case New Holland leaves two seriously injured

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI – Two workers were seriously injured in a forklift accident at the Case New Holland (CNH) plant on Oakes Road on Wednesday, May 29.

Rescue crews from the South Shore Fire Department (SSFD) and Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) were dispatched to CNH at approximately 10:23 a.m. following a report of an industrial accident.

Worker trapped in forklift accident

According to a press release from the MPPD, officers arrived at the scene around 10:23 a.m. and found two workers trapped under the forks of a forklift.

Although the forklift forks were already raised when the officers arrived, the people suffered significant injuries to their legs.

Firefighters/paramedics initiated life-saving measures and called Flight for Life to airlift the workers to Froedtert Hospital. At the time of rescue, their injuries were described as critical but not life-threatening.

Authorities have not released any further information about the cause of the accident or the identities of the injured workers. The incident is currently under investigation.
