Man from Wall NJ attacks girlfriend with machete: authorities

FREEHOLD – A 24-year-old man was charged with attempted murder in Wall after attacking his girlfriend with a machete outside a local apartment complex, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said Tuesday.

Alex J. Williams, 24, who also lives in Wall, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. The endangering the welfare of a child charge stems from the fact that the victim’s child was in the vicinity of the attack when it occurred, according to a statement from the district attorney’s office.

At around 9:22 a.m. Thursday, Wall Police Department officers responded to a report of an incident in the parking lot of the Glen Oaks Apartment Complex near Allenwood Road, the statement said.
