South Shore stabbing suspect sought in CT death investigation

A law enforcement source told Boston 25 that the man responsible for Saturday’s stabbing on the South Shore is also being investigated for his connection to a death in Connecticut.

Connecticut State Police responded to a reported disturbance at approximately 3:36 p.m. Saturday. Arriving officers found a deceased person whose identity has not yet been determined.

A suspect in the investigation was taken into custody in Massachusetts, Connecticut State Police said Saturday evening. They did not identify the suspect as Ravizza.

“It seems like all hell has suddenly and unexpectedly broken loose in Deep River, Connecticut, a pretty laid-back town,” said Charlie Brashears, who lives near the crime scene.

Police said they responded to a 911 call from the home in Deep River, Connecticut, and found a man dead.

“Many, many, many police cars came and barricaded themselves. At first it looked like they were ambushed down there. They had both cars backed into two of my neighbors and were standing on the hoods. I don’t know if they had weapons or not, but they were standing on the hoods. Eventually they just barricaded the area,” Brashears said.

Brashears says the suspect and victim were renting this home.

Neighbors could hear them arguing a few days ago.

“They both lived together for 2.5 weeks, it was through VRBO, they had a couple of dogs,” Brashears said.

Just hours later, he was arrested by police in Sandwich following his stabbing on the south coast.

“It’s hard to grasp,” Brashears said.

On Tuesday, Ravizza will face several charges in Plymouth District Court, including assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
