Albemarle man faces murder charge after “road rage” in Myrtle Beach

An Albemarle resident is facing murder charges following what police are calling a “road rage incident” in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

At around 10:49 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a shooting incident in the area of ​​the 2300 block of North Ocean Boulevard. A male victim did not survive his injuries, police said in a statement on the department’s Facebook page.

After investigation, it emerged that the defendant was involved in a verbal altercation with an acquaintance of the victim, which was the result of an incident of road rage. During the incident, the defendant fired his weapon and fatally shot the victim.

Anthony Maurice Garner, 44, of Albemarle, was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
