1 dead after early morning collision in Santa Cruz County – NBC Bay Area

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 45-year-old man died in a crash in Santa Cruz County around 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning while traveling north on Graham Hill Road.

The man’s 2009 Nissan Altima reportedly left the paved road and struck several objects, including a tree, causing him to be ejected from the vehicle.

The ejection resulted in life-threatening injuries, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident after unsuccessful rescue attempts, according to the accident report.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
