Austin Taco Shop Opens New Houston Restaurant in Galleria District

Texas taco chain Tacodéli opened its first Houston location in 2017 on Washington Avenue. Now, about seven years later, the Austin-based taquería has opened a second restaurant in Houston at 1715 Post Oak in the Place du Chêne.

This is Tacodeli’s 13th location. The company was founded by the chef Roberto Espinosa And Eric Wilkerson in 1999, and has expanded from Austin to Dallas, Plano and Houston. The Post Oak location has a spacious dining room that seats 52 and a 20-seat patio. The interior design features aesthetic inspirations from Mexico City and Texas, with artwork by the late Austin-based artist. Cindy “Crash” Raschke. Raschke previously created a space-themed painting for the Washington location, which is also on display at the new Post Oak spot.

The new Galleria area Tacodeli location will offer the same menu, which includes breakfast, lunch/dinner tacos and bowls. Tacodeli offers a wide variety of dishes with several beef, chicken, pork, seafood and vegetarian options. Customers also have the option to make your own breakfast tacos with toppings that include chorizo, picadillo And barbacoaas well as some vegetable options, like baby portabella mushrooms And poblano-onion rajas (roasted strips). In addition to tacos, the restaurant also serves soup, salads And entriessuch as chips and salsa And cheese.

Tacodeli also serves a handful of alcoholic beverages, including margaritas (frozen or on ice), ranch waters And beer. There are many non-alcoholic options like coffee and horchata.

Tacodeli is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with breakfast served until 11:00 a.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with breakfast served until 3:00 p.m. You can consult the menu and even order online. here.
