One dead after shooting at Berryville AutoZone

When officers arrived at the AutoZone on West Trimble Avenue on Saturday, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – One person was killed in a shooting at the AutoZone in Berryville on May 18, according to Berryville Police Chief Robert Bartos.

On Saturday, officers were dispatched to the auto parts store on West Trimble Avenue around 1:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

The woman, identified as Izamar Maryeli Paz of Berryville, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Berryville for treatment of life-threatening injuries, where she later died.

Chief Bartos did not release the identity of the shooter.

“Both parties were acquainted with each other and both parties were armed with firearms,” Chief Bartos said.

He said the investigation is ongoing and the department promised to release more information at a later date.
