Dolly called and comforted her

Elle KingI finally speak to her, confused Dolly Parton Full-length performance… She expresses the alcohol-soaked moment of overcoming difficult issues in her life – and praises the grace of DP.

The singer kept jumping Chelsea handlerson the Dear Chelsea podcast as she reflected on the disastrous performance in January… called the incident a huge mistake and dove into detail ahead of the show.

EK says she was going through something big at the time… and the day of the performance was significant to whatever that big trauma was. She didn’t elaborate on what exactly was troubling her…but whatever it was was causing her post-traumatic stress disorder, she says.

Anyway, King also says that she hadn’t eaten or slept for days before the show, and after the first performance went well, she drank one shot too many and completely disconnected without remembering much can. She says she remembers waking up sobbing in the locker room.

Elle goes on to say that she sent handwritten apologies to the Grand Ole Opry – the venue – and to Dolly herself… who called Elle and made her feel better about the incident.

As we reported… Elle hopped onto the stage at the legendary Nashville music venue banging and banging I forgot the lyrics to one of Dolly’s songs Songs. She also used profane expressions during her performance on stage.

While Dolly’s Sister Stella Damn King, Parton herself spoke publicly afterward and urged people to take it easy on King — undoubtedly a classic move from the Queen… and something Elle can now appreciate.

King put her future shows on hold following the incident … and she explains that she had to step away from public life to deal with her own issues. She has since returned to the stage – Mash water instead of alcohol.
