Woman killed, two injured after tree falls in mobile home in West Baton Rouge Parish

WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – Severe weather in Louisiana left one dead and two injured Monday evening.

A spokesman for the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a woman was killed after a tree fell into her mobile home in Port Allen. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

An adult male and a five-year-old boy were also in the trailer and suffered unknown injuries at the time. According to the sheriff’s office, the two were taken to a local hospital.

The identity of the victims was initially not known.

The storm knocked out power to more than 54,000 residents in and near the Baton Rouge metropolitan area, according to power outage maps from Entergy Louisiana and DEMCO.
