One has been arrested for assault in an incident at Cumberland House overnight

CUMBERLAND, MD – Officers with the Cumberland Police Department arrested two people following an assault that occurred at a residence on Seymour Street in the early hours of Saturday. At approximately 12:44 a.m., police responded to the 200 block where they encountered Rachel Brotemarkle and Donald Pryor.

Brotemarkle accused Pryor of assault, and during the investigation, another victim claimed Brotemarkle assaulted her.

Both Brotemarkle and Pryor were taken into custody and taken to Central Booking. Upon arrest, Brotemarkle was found with a suspected controlled dangerous substance. The couple underwent a bond hearing, where Brotemarkle posted $3,000 bail and Pryor posted $2,000 bail.

Brotemarkle, 49, of Cumberland, is charged with second-degree assault and possession of a controlled substance other than cannabis. Pryor, 56, also of Cumberland, was charged with second-degree assault.
