A man was arrested after three juveniles opened fire at his home near an elementary school, Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office officials said. On Friday around 7:40 p.m., officers said they received a call that “shots were fired” near the athletic fields at West Yadkin Elementary School. This evidence allowed them to determine the direction and location from which the shots were fired. Officers said they also found evidence at the origin site that the shots were fired. Three juveniles were identified at that location and were home alone at the time of the incident, officials said. While officers were on scene, the property owner arrived at the home and a search warrant was obtained. Officials said they found the firearm used to fire the shots. Salomon Maya Osorio, 39, was arrested and charged with violating North Carolina General Statute 14-315.1 (relating to the retention of the firearm and access thereto by a minor who used it in the commission of a felony). Osorio was given a $5,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in Yadkin District Court on June 12, 2024. No further details will be released due to the involvement of a juvenile. On Friday around 7:40 p.m., officers said they received a call that “shots were fired” near the athletic fields at West Yadkin Elementary School. Officials said the shots fired struck a building on campus during a sporting event.

Officers said they responded to the area and found evidence that the bullets hit a concession stand. This evidence allowed them to determine the direction and location from which the shots were fired. Officers said they also found evidence that the shots had been fired at the scene of origin.
